Sea Level Rise 04
from £450.00
About Sea Level Rise (SLR) series:
During the lockdown in 2022, watching a NASA simulation, I was overwhelmed by the catastrophic impact of global sea level rise.
According to the research, our coastal lines increased by 3.4mm/year in 2021, which is 42 trillion cubic feet of water; the rate has nearly doubled since the start of the century.
I then created several watercolour drawings titled SLR – from afar, they look like a peaceful seascape with a subtle shift of blue tones, but the pencil notation at the side would arouse the viewers to ask: “What are these numbers?”; that gives me the chance to explain each blue-wash represents a global sea level rise of 3.4mm a year.
